Chuck and his wife, Julie, have been married for 39 years and are the proud parents of three adult children and grandparents to two grandchildren. They currently reside in Nashville, Tennessee.
Chuck earned All-American and SEC Legend honors as a standout football player at his alma mater, Vanderbilt University. Following college, he was selected in the second round of the NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams, where he played professionally for four years.
After his football career, Chuck dedicated the past 35 years to Young Life, an international ministry committed to reaching teenagers with the love and message of Jesus Christ. He currently serves as the Director of Development Initiatives, where he has been instrumental in spearheading several major projects. Among these is Carolina Point, a Young Life camp designed from the ground up to serve “every kid,” with a particular emphasis on accessibility for young people with disabilities. Chuck also established the Outdoor Advisory Team to support Tudor Farms, a 6,500-acre sportsman’s retreat on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay.
In recent years, Chuck has turned his focus to addressing the challenges facing young men today. He is actively developing an initiative aimed at understanding and reversing the trend of young men disengaging from Christian community, church involvement, and leadership roles.
For the past eight years, Chuck has immersed himself in the Lord’s Prayer, a journey that has profoundly shaped his spiritual life. He now shares with others how this prayer has transformed him, offering hope and encouragement to those seeking deeper faith and connection with God.
